Dry stretch continues in Minnesota, with winds warming temps through weekend

MINNEAPOLIS — After a frosty start, high pressure will bring plenty of sun to the Twin Cities on Wednesday, along with increasing winds out of the south.
Gusts up to 25 mph around the metro will help highs climb close to 60 degrees, which is about average.
Faster winds and drier conditions across central and western Minnesota have a red flag warning in effect.
The warming trend continues on Thursday and Friday with even faster winds, gusting 30-40 mph. Highs reach to near 70 on Thursday and the low 70s on Friday.
A front will pass on Friday night, but the rain chances look less impressive now with only an isolated shower possible.
If no there’s no measurable rain at MSP Airport, our streak could break 30 days, making it a top-five dry stretch.
High temps stay in the 70s this weekend with the winds relaxing a bit under a mostly-to-partly-cloudy sky.
Another shower is possible early next week, but doesn’t look impressive compared to the above-average temps lingering.
